What an AI agency does for California businesses

California runs on scale. It is the largest state economy in the country, home to a dense cluster of tech and SaaS companies, a healthcare sector that never really closes, an entertainment industry built on being reachable at odd hours, and an agricultural sector spread across the Central Valley that runs on tight seasonal timing. An AI agency, in practice, does two things for a business like that. First, it builds AI voice agents: software that can pick up a phone call, understand what the caller wants in natural speech, and either resolve it or hand it off, the way a trained receptionist would, except it never goes on break. Second, it builds workflow automation: the connective wiring between the tools a business already runs, so a lead captured on a form, a booking made through a call, or a patient record updated after a visit moves into the right system automatically instead of someone re-typing it. For a California business, the case for both is volume. A SaaS company fielding support tickets around the clock, a clinic managing patient intake, or a production company juggling vendor calls all share the same problem: too many repetitive conversations and handoffs for a small team to keep up with by hand. That is the gap this kind of work closes, not by replacing a team, but by handling the repeatable parts of the phone and paperwork so the team is left with the parts that actually need a person.

Working with California teams

We work with California businesses entirely remotely. California runs on Pacific time, three hours behind where our team is based on the East Coast, which in practice means the overlap runs from the middle of our day into your morning, and most of our work, from building a voice agent’s conversation flow to wiring up an automation, does not require anyone to be in the same room or even the same time zone. Callers should always be told plainly that they are speaking with an AI, and we build that disclosure into the opening turn of every voice agent as a default, reviewable setting rather than something bolted on afterwards. We are not lawyers and we do not advise on what any particular rule requires of your business, so whatever your counsel tells you the opening line has to say, that is what we set it to.

Where our work lines up with California industries

A few of California’s real industries map directly onto work we have actually done, and we want to be specific about where that is genuinely true rather than stretching it. Healthcare is one: we built the automation behind Flowstate, a healthcare clinic system that handles appointment booking, patient report generation, inquiry triage, and OCR document handling, which is the same category of work a California clinic or healthcare group would need, regardless of where the clinic is. Tech and SaaS is another: we built Knock, an AI roleplay and coaching platform used for sales training, which sits squarely in the SaaS product space that is dense across California. Where we do not have a direct match, we will say so rather than imply one. We have not built for a California entertainment company or an agricultural operation specifically, and we are not going to claim otherwise. What carries across regardless of industry is the underlying voice agent work, most visibly OraFacePass, an enterprise voice agent handling 250,000 calls a day with spam and scam detection and CRM-to-calendar booking, which shows the kind of call volume and reliability we build for, whatever industry is on the other end of the phone.

Frequently asked questions

Does Evolvv AI have an office in California?

No. Evolvv AI does not have an office in California. We are based on the East Coast, with our team operating out of Brooklyn, New York, and our company registered in St. Petersburg, Florida. We do not have a physical location, staff, or presence anywhere in California. What we do have is a track record of working with clients remotely, building voice agents and automation entirely online, from the first conversation through to a live system. For a California business, that means the work itself, the calls, the reviews, the build, the testing, happens the same way it would if we were down the street, just without the overhead of an office to visit. If in-person meetings matter to you for a specific project, say so early and we will tell you plainly whether that is something we can offer, rather than implying a local presence we do not have. We would rather lose a project on that basis than misrepresent where we are.

Do you tell callers they are speaking with an AI?

Yes, as a default. Every voice agent we build opens by saying plainly that the caller is speaking with an AI, before anything else happens, and that opening line is a reviewable setting rather than something buried in the model’s behaviour. We do this because it is the right way to build, not because we are interpreting any particular rule for you. Evolvv AI is a software and AI development agency, not a law firm. We do not advise on what disclosure any specific law requires of your business, we do not certify that any setup complies with anything, and we hold no certifications of any kind. California has its own requirements around automated calling, and what they mean for your calling method and your use case is a judgment for your own counsel. Tell us what the opening has to say and we will set it to say exactly that, then show you where to change it later.

What’s the difference between a voice agent and workflow automation?

A voice agent is software that answers or makes a phone call and holds a real, natural-sounding conversation, understanding what a caller wants and either resolving it directly or handing it to a person. Workflow automation is different: it is the wiring underneath, the connections between the tools a business already uses, like a CRM, a calendar, or a billing system, so information moves between them automatically instead of someone re-entering it by hand. In practice, most California businesses need both together. A voice agent might answer a support call for a SaaS company or take a booking request for a clinic, and workflow automation is what makes sure that call’s outcome, a support ticket, a booked appointment, a new lead, actually lands in the right system afterward without a person copying it over. We build both, and we usually build them as one connected system rather than two separate tools, because a voice agent that cannot update your CRM on its own is only doing half the job.

What industries in California do you actually have experience with?

We have direct experience in two industries that are dense in California: healthcare, through Flowstate, a clinic automation system we built covering appointment booking, patient reports, inquiry triage and OCR document handling, and SaaS, through Knock, an AI roleplay and coaching platform for sales teams. We also have broad experience with high-volume voice agent work through OraFacePass, an enterprise voice agent handling 250,000 calls a day with spam and scam detection built in, which is relevant to any California business fielding a large volume of calls, regardless of industry. We do not have direct experience with California’s entertainment or agriculture sectors specifically, and we would rather tell you that upfront than imply otherwise. If your business is in one of those industries, what we bring is the underlying voice agent and automation capability, applied to your specific calls and workflows for the first time, not a prior case study in your exact field. We think that is a more honest starting point than a stretched comparison.
